Figure Wishlist - Nendoroid Tomoe Mami Maiko Version

Bebe!!!
Full disclosure. This figure has been on my wishlist for a really long time ever since she was first announced in Summer Wonder Festival 2016. If I had to pick a Mami figure/concept not from the core Magical Girl and School Girl versions, it would be without a shred of doubt the Maiko Version. So much so, that I do not just have the figure but, the rubber strap and have named it one of the "5 Must Have Tomoe Mami Figures". As such, you can imagine my excitement when Good Smile Company recently unveiled the wraps for her pre-order as well as the full details of her release date. September 2017, mark the date!

A cute expression hiding behind her fan.
One day before being open for pre-order, Kahotan's blog had already given us an in-depth look at what to expect. With so much to go for from the source material, I had high expectation for the final product. Fortunately, Good Smile once again stepped up and did not disappoint! Every little detail from her pink kimono and sash to her hairpiece and fan are lovingly reproduced. Oh, and Bebe is present too just like in the original scale figure!

Now that she is up for pre-order till the 8th of June 2017 (on Good Smile's Online Shop), we are given more information on release dates and prices. More specifically, a September 2017 release date granted there are no delays and a very reasonable 4,444 Yen (before tax) retail price. No pre-order bonuses this time meaning you can feel free to order her from other suppliers such as AmiAmi who is now offering her with a 19% discount!

Being a Nendoroid, it would mean that various part would be included which make a variety of poses possible. One of the more interesting additions is the inclusion of different leg parts which allows Mami to be positioned in a demure sitting pose. Other included accessories include the fan and two face plates (smiling and eyes closed) in total. Perhaps the only downside would be the inclusion of only two face plates compared to the usual three. Hopefully, the addition of Bebe helps to make up for it!

It may only be the start of May but, I know have a figure to look forward to come September later this year. My only hope is that the 4 month production cycle in between pre-orders and release is not too short for Good Smile which may prompt them towards delays. After all, we have seen that with multiple figures almost consistently every month. That being said, I would still prefer that quality prioritizes quantity and while delays are unwanted, they are sometimes necessary.

As usual, all image credits go to Good Smile Company. Make sure to check out the official product page for Mami for more details. What did you think about the latest Nendoroid addition to the Madoka Magica series? I would love to hear what you think in the comments section below. Until the next time, thank you so much for reading and have yourself a wonderful day ahead!
