Chiba Days #14 - The Evil Haul

Hello everyone and welcome to another chapter of Chiba Days here on Tiro Finale! Today, we have a quick update to my recent trip to Akiba where I blissfully stumbled upon a store selling Youjo Senki merchandise.

While I did not want to leave Akiba handed, neither did I want to break the bank purchasing too many trinkets. Ultimately, I settled upon getting a clear file and a rubber strap. Practical yet, affordable.

The clear file cost 500 Yen and looked fairly simple on one side with its army green color scheme. In fact, it may even be mistaken as a propaganda poster from the front side. But flip it over to the other side and all is not as it seems with this sneaky little clear file.

The rear side of the clear file has a screenshot of the scene where Tanya is swamped with paper work. Getting an officer's position and her own department, Tanya did not expect so much paper work that needed to be dealt with. It is one of the more iconic non-battle scenes in the anime and serves as a great juxtaposition between the serious recruitment poster and the miserable office work that is involved with it.

The other item I opted to get is the rubber strap of Tanya riding the V1 rocket. This is also another replicated scene from the anime where Tanya's special operations mage squad has to carry out long-range infiltration.

The rubber strap costs 900 Yen and is manufactured by Groove Garage Inc. As far as rubber straps go, this is one of the more expensive ones that I have bought. The Kadokawa holographic sticker ensures the authenticity of the product that your are purchasing.

The Youjo Senki universe uses its own language despite the spoken language in the anime being Japanese. Tanya's displeasure with having to ride the V1 rocket is clearly signified in her speech bubble even without the need to understand the language though.

Youjo Senki finished airing in March 2017 as part of the Winter anime season. Since then, merchandise for the series has been slowly rolling out with major figures slated to be revealed soon. For now, fans will have to suffice with merchandise such as this. But, with unique designs such as this, the wait may not be all that bad.

With that, we come to the end of our first haul post on Chiba Days. Rest assured, this will not be the last as I have another one coming up real soon with a very special find. Until then, thank you so much for reading and have yourself a wonderful day ahead!
