Oshino Shinobu Plush Strap (Nisemonogatari) Review

THIS IS EXPENSIVE. I'm not lying. This tiny strap is an expensive item. At 3000 yen, the Oshino Shinobu Plush Strap stands at about 150mm. Admittedly, this was the resale price at Mandarake but still! This isn't even the standard 200mm plush (the kind that doesn't come with a fancy strap to hang her with).

As with most Shinobu plushies, you can only get this little girl at a specific event; in this case, Comiket 84 if I'm not wrong. Her 200mm variant can be acquired from Comiket 88.

Shinobu is sporting her outfit she wears in Nisemonogatari; a white dress with cute pink ribbons. In this plush, she's also carrying around a donut (not detachable) as an added bonus.

The materials used for this plush (and quite similar to every other plush) consists of a combination of felt, cloth, stuffing and plastic (for her weeny teeny shoes).

While the hair itself certainly feels and looks of felt, I can't say they didn't do a good job. The hair fits her perfectly and is cut in a way that it does not flop around like Lara Croft's with Nvidia Hairworks. It's stiff at the right places and more importantly, does not stand out in a bad way considering how it sticks more like 2D than it does 3D.

Shinobu's eyes are sewn on pretty well and very tight to ensure a strong impression. It feels rigid and definitely doesn't feel like it'll come off after a few washes (I don't want to wash my plushies!).

The ribbons on her dress are actual tiny ribbons and thus, feels as smooth as silk. It's a neat touch amidst all fabric and static. I should also mention that her donut and shoes feel differently than her body too but quite unlike the silky ribbons. The strap on her hand is also plastic and while I don't remember her actually wearing it, the colour adds something to her overall style.

The whole family looks happy together! The mum, the tsundere, the hime and the imouto. What a wonderful family!

Really, for plushies, I believe that's all there is to it! Tune it soon for my next review for the week! I wonder who it'll be about?
