Madogatari Wishlist

Hello everyone and welcome to another installment of Monogatari Thursdays! Today, we will be talking a little bit about Madogatari Exhibition, the collaboration project between Puella Magi Madoka Magica and the Monogatari Series celebrated in conjunction with Shaft's 40th Anniversary. While the exhibition itself has long since ended, together with its various encore shows, the exclusive merchandise that came with it still come very sought after especially in the international market. Personally, I managed to get my hands on as much Madogatari merchandise as I possibly could from re-sellers. Nevertheless, there are still a few missing from the collection which I would love to add to the collection.

1. Key Visual A4 Clear File
A simple A4 clear file may not look like much but, it is practically impossible to source for these clear files online. Originally retailing for 400 Yen during the exhibition, these files feature key visual illustrations of Mami, Nagisa, Hanekawa and Nadeko. Other combinations featuring the other characters from both series also exist although, this remains to be my favorite.

2. Key Visual Pair T-Shirt D (Tomoe Mami & Tsubasa Hanekawa)
The Madogatari team made sure to make plenty of exclusive apparel for the exhibition and this pairing of Hanekawa and Mami on a single tee is just one of the many combinations. Originally retailing for 2,500 Yen, other combinations include Nadeko and Nagisa, Kyouko and Suruga, Sayaka and Hachikuji and Madoka and Senjougahara. Picking my favorite combination, it is hard to argue with a combination of Hanekawa and Mami. I also love the yellow and green color combination which really pops visually.

3. Candy Witch Art Rucksack
The third and final item on today's Madogatari wishlist also happens to be the most expensive item at 20,000 Yen. Then again, such would be expect from a rucksack with a solid poly-carbonate outer shell emblazoned with an illustration of Bebe/Charlotte. Very much still in witch form, I love the art style which references heavily the Witch's Field that is present in the series. At a glance, the art appears very playful and childish but, a closer look, reveals a sort of hidden insanity behind the disturbing illustration. This is one item I have been keeping a close watch for, despite its price, as a bag such as this would be both collectable and practical.

The Madogatari Exhibition sure had plenty of exclusive merchandise up for grabs with each one serving to appeal to every fan of either series. These picks are just a few of the great gems that Shaft had available and if you, like me, are a fan of either series, I would strongly recommend you start looking for these exclusive merchandise in the re-sellers market before they are permanently gone. With that, comes an end to our weekly Monogatari segment. What should we do next? Do let us know in the comments section below as we would love to hear what you have to say. Until the next time, thank you so much for reading and have yourself a wonderful day ahead!
