Nendoroid Sakura Kyoko Preview & Unboxing

Hello, everyone! This week we will be taking a look at not one but, 2 Nendoroid(s). One from me covering the first half of the week, with the second being covered by fellow writer Lance for the second half of the week. On my corner of the post, we will be taking a look at Nendoroid Sakura Kyoko as you can see above. Designate Nendoroid No. 217, this particular Nendoroid has a particular sentimental value to me as it was a birthday gift I received last year. For today, we will be going through a quick preview and unboxing of this crimson Magical Girl.

By today's standard, Kyoko is one of Good Smile Company's earlier Nendoroid releases at No. 217. As such, she uses a more traditional layout no longer seen with today's Nendoroid. The more notable changes in the newer Nendoroid include a bolder layout and more English characters.

Still, there is something to be said about the older Nendoroid box designs as it still holds up its charm even today.

Much of this longevity in design comes down to Good Smile Company's usage of high resolution prints on the box and an accompanying high quality cardboard. It all makes for a product which feels very robust and well made even after all these years and we are not even referring to the figure within.

One design factor that I find lacking in newer Nendoroid box designs are the lack of personalized themes and colors. Gone are those days with Good Smile opting to go for a more uniform and sleek look with the current Nendoroid releases.

As such, Kyoko's Nendoroid certainly has a colorful flair which the newer Nendoroid(s) are missing. Enough about the outside of the box though. As it is time to pop open the box and inspect its contents.

Just a single piece of tape is all that is in the way between you and opening the box. Be careful when opening the box as you do not want to end up tearing anything. This is, after all still paper.

Remove the plastic blister and you have all your content neatly sandwiched between two clear plastic blisters. It always amazes me how well the parts fit into their plastic molds with just the bare minimum of leeway. Precision engineering!

Two additional face plates are available making for a total of three expression that you will be able to choose from. Together with a whole host of other accessories, the customization options for Nendoroid never cease to impress.

Of course, we cannot forget about Kyoko herself which takes center stage in the entire display. Surrounding her are her various accessories such as her modular lance/spear, various hands and leg parts. some snacks and a base.

Surprisingly enough, this will be the first Nendoroid review on Tiro Finale despite having published over 700 articles. As such, I will definitely be looking forward to completing this review. Hopefully, I do not end up disappointing the readers! Until then, thank you so much for reading and have yourself a wonderful day ahead!
